    I helped disrupt the public safety technology industry with Project54 at UNH. Later with my partners we built a successful start-up company called 54ward. Sold 54ward to Motorola. Worked at Motorola, where I invented new product and oversaw its development. My specialty is product vision and leading small teams of awesome developers to bring ideas to life. I also run a youth basketball program in the seacoast area of New Hampshire.

    I have lead product development teams in all settings including large corporations, start-ups and academic R&D. Currently, I offer consulting services to help companies define product strategy and manage product development. Providing expertise in the areas of public safety technology, connected vehicles, product development and supply chain logistics. Working with a wide range of clients from Fortune 500 companies to small up and coming startups.

    After we sold our start-up company 54ward to Motorola, I stayed on to lead a rogue R&D team that focused on next generation vehicle solutions. I helped shape Motorola’s connected vehicle strategy by collaborating with various product groups and Chief Technology Office.

    54ward is a company that I helped spin off to commercialize university research project, Project54. At 54ward I oversaw all engineering and product planning. Developed next generation product demonstrations and delivered all technical pitches that lead to the company’s acquisition by Motorola.

    Advanced breakthrough idea from lab demo to statewide deployed system while managing a team of engineers, technicians, graduate and undergraduate research assistants working on $36M US Department of Justice grant. Research focused on voice controlled emergency vehicle integration.

    APX Siren & Lights Interface Module

    Invented and oversaw development of new device that enables consolidated control of radio, lights and sirens.

    Project54 Voice-Activated Police Cars

    Advanced academic lab concept to statewide deployed system in all NH State Police cars and over 1000 other emergency vehicles.

    Motorola Ultimate Patrol Vehicle

    Provided breakthrough method to navigate numerous software applications in a mobile environment with touch screen and voice controls.

    54ward Urban Patrol Concept Car

    Disrupted emergency vehicle industry by providing voice, touch screen and steering wheel controls of all emergency equipment with clean in-dash solution.

    Dodge Charger Pursuit

    Created concept and delivered working prototype of touch screen in-dash software control of emergency lights, siren and radio in the premier of the updated Dodge Charger Pursuit.

    Distractions on Patrol Presentation

    Participated in workshop session at the Transportation Research Board’s 94th Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.  Sat on panel and gave a presentation titled “Distractions on Patrol” that detailed the driver distractions that are specific to first responders on the job.

    Master's thesis compared speech recognition engine and microphone performance in emergency vehicles.  "Winning" microphone went on to be used exclusively by all major speech applications in police vehicles including: Visteon, Rockwell Collings, L3 Communications, 54ward and Motorola.

    Computer Engineering Concentration.  Senior project was the development of network management software module for Cisco Catalyst 8500 Router.  Module was later commercially offered by Aprisma (formely Cabletron Systems).
